Look what the cat dragged in

Ok, the cat didn't drag it in.
We don't own a cat.
It wasn't dragged in, but it was kinda heavy.
Jason and I happened to spot it laying in someone's garbage.
So, we took it home.
It sat in our garage for a few days, but thanks to Uncle Tom, it finally emerged healthy and healed.
It only cost us about $40 to take care of it.
And we've already grown quite attached....
I think we may keep it.

So what, you ask, could it possibly be?

Why, it's the BATMOBILE of course!!

Fixed by Uncle Tom (a new fuse and a repaired wire) and a new charger purchased by mom and dad. It is truly amazing the treasures you can find in someone else's garbage. Oh, and I will also point out the bike that Jason happens to be riding - that was all picked up out of the same garbage as the Batmobile. Andrew, Jason, Tessa, Noah and I cleaned it all up and we've now added the glow-in-the-dark green bike (Jason has claimed it as his own) to our ever growing collection in our garage.

Followed, always in hot pursuit, by Jason

Leaves!

Do you remember those days from your youth, where just about anything was fun? What happens when we get older that the simple things are no longer fun? Everything has to be planned, prepared for, scheduled, and executed. We often get so caught up in worrying and fretting about tomorrow, we forget to stop and enjoy life as it happens.

A few days ago, the kids gave us a lesson in how to enjoy life as it comes, and not worry about all the other things going on in the world today. It didn't cost us a dime. We didn't have to plan for it. There was no whining and crying. We just had to sit back, relax, and enjoy the beauty of it.

(I think they would have stayed out there all night if we had let them!)

Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Pumpkins

The boys had Columbus Day off, and it was a beautiful day. We decided to go to Goebbert's Pumpkin Farm.

The kids were very excited and I could barely keep up with them as they were running from place to place. Do you know how hard it is to get 5 kids to not only look at the camera, but smile (and not scream CHEESE every 2 seconds)? In case you don't know, it's HARD!!! LOL

The farm also has a traveling zoo - not only did we get to see lots of animals, but the giraffe tried to eat Tyler's shirt, and licked Andrew's face!! No one else wanted to feed the giraffe after that!

They also had a mechanical dinosaur that smashed pumpkins and PIG RACES (the pigs race for an oreo cookie!) We loved picking through all the different kinds of gourds.

And just look at how tall we are now!

I'm back!!! (did you miss me?)

Well, after months of not taking care of my little blog, I thought it was high time I got back in action!

It's now fall again and we are heading into Halloween.

Tyler is in 1st grade. Noah is in Pre-K and we are anxiously awaiting the start of preschool for Andrew, Jason and Tessie.

Our fire station recently had an open house and of course we had to go.

Everyone got to slide down the fire pole (Tyler didn't want to).

We even got to go for a ride IN a fire truck (new this year) and Tyler and Jason rode up front and got to blow the horns!!

We also visited Dan's family in Rochester, NY this summer:

Andrew, Jason and Tessa have discoverd how to play Reader Rabbit on the computer:

Tyler and Noah have celebrated birthdays:

Dancing with Belle and the Beast:

Hanging around outside:

Memories of the good old days when they would stay in one place (LOL):

Snow, snow, and more snow

Snow - it just keeps on coming this year. I never thought that three little two year olds would love to be out in the snow so much, but boy do they have fun. This latest storm dumped about 15-16 inches on us today and we probably had 3-4 left from the last storm even after all the rain we got a few days ago. They did not want to come in even though we were out there for over an hour!!! They were having so much fun and it puts a big smile on my face to watch them!!!

This is the hill from all the shoveled snow at the end of our driveway (you can't even see the mailbox can you???)

Here's Tyler and Noah on the bottom to give you some perspective

Here's Dan standing next to that same pile

The kids made a "slide" down the snowbank (look right in the center of the picture and you'll see it)

Just a few random shots (as you can see, it was still snowing when we were out there)

Here you can see our poor little choo choo mailbox (sort of)
